Activities

A brief list of activities I have done including internships, research, school extracurriculars, and more

INTERNATIONAL

OPERATIONS

United Kingdom:

I have worked in multiple post offices as manager and post clerk in the United Kingdom. I originally worked in the town of Greenwich before working at Wembley Post Office! It was exciting to be in such an active area next to Wembley Stadium. I still work there every summer. Thus, if you ever need someone to teach you how to fake a british accent, you know who to call.

India:

When I was in India, I realized that there were many people who really wanted to take classes in Computer Science but could not afford the tuition. Thus, I started my own Computer Science tutoring class there for free and it was hosted in the middle-floor of my grandparents building. I took no money and in the end I believed I helped many individuals. It was a great experience and since I know Hindi and English, language barriers were not an issue.

Japan:

I did not exactly travel to Japan myself; however, I have done many projects involving individuals in Japan. First off is when I worked with the rotary club to connect deaf childrein in the United States and in Japan. Using my backend programming skills, I set up a pen-pal system that allowed these children to easily exchange letters. Additionally, I helped the Rotary Club gain funds to help those effected by the 9/11 Tsunami in Japan; In fact, using these funds, we sent 9/11/01 victims to help the 9/11 Tsunami victims deal with trauma. It was amazing to hear how great our work was: for example, a woman who had not spoken in a year started to laugh and interact again and we were able to help children find a way to show their emotions.
